Translate This Page About usAloha Pono Products LLC was founded by Native Hawaiian Melvin G. Mason Jr. and Sweden born Susanna Nordlund, in 2009. The inspiration came from the Treaty between the Kingdom of Hawaii and the Kingdom of Sweden/Norway in 1852. Hawaiians have sailed around the world for thousands of years, sharing their wisdom and aloha. Our vision is to through our products create relationships between Hawaii and the world, and for the products to be enjoyed by everybody who is longing for the true Aloha Spirit. We believe in high quality with reasonably set prices, and meanwhile support the local economy in Hawaii. It is important that we all work together in awareness, just like the Hawaiians have always done. Aloha Pono Products LLC, 73-1749 Hao Street, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, 96740 ![]() Our Logo and The Eye of Kanaloa Aloha Pono Products' Logo holds the symbol of The Eye of Kanaloa in it's sun. In the mythology of old Hawaii, Kanaloa was the god of the ocean, a healer god, and the close companion of Kane, the god of creation. They would journey together, share the sacred drink of 'awa, and use their staves to strike the ground and cause springs of water to burst forth. Rare statues of kanaloa feature him with round eyes, unlike those of any other representations of the gods. According to the Kaua'i tradition, if you could look into the eyes of Kanaloa, you would see the pattern above. Kanaloa also represents the center of the universe within oneself. The Pattern: As a whole, the pattern represents the Aka Web, or The Web of Life, the symbolic connection of all things to each other. In this aspect, the star at the center is the spider/Kahuna / shaman, or the individual who is aware of being the weaver of his own life, a dream weaver. In another aspect, the eight lines represents "mana", or spiritual power, because another meaning of "mana" is "branching lines" and the number eight in Hawaiian tradition is symbolic of great power. The four circles represent "aloha", or love, because the "lei" or garland, a symbol of love, is circular and is used figuratively in Hawaiian to mean a circle. The word "ha" which is a part of the word "aloha" means life and the number four. Together the circles and lines represent the harmony of Love and Power as an ideal to develop. The star pattern is composed of a dot in the center representing the Aumakua, or Higher self, a ring representing Lono, or the Mental Self; the seven limbs of the star representing the Seven Pathways of Aumakua; the ring around the star representing Ku (the physical or unconscious self). One point of the star is always down, aligned with a traight line of the web, representing the connection of the inner with the outer; a duality of being. The 7 Pathways of the Higher Self (Aumakua) are: 1 - Determination, Power & Personal Will 2 - Wisdom, Growth & Unconditional Love 3 - Knowledge, Intelligence & Understanding 4 - Harmony, Atonement & Tranquility 5 - The Powers of Mind, Heart, Body & Spirit 6 - Devotion, Honesty & Truth 7 - Magic, Science and Spiritual Will The Eye of Kanaloa is an ancient Hawaiian Symbol of harmony as well as a type of pattern that radiates harmonious energy into its environment and amplifies the effect of other energy sources. |
