The Hawaiian Islands known to the Hawaiian People as Mokupuni o Hawai‘i is one smaller part of the archipelago of the Pacific Ocean. Collectively the Hawaiian Islands are made up of eight major islands, several atolls, numerous smaller islets, and undersea sea-mounts in the North Pacific Ocean. Hawaii was once known to be called as the "Sandwich Islands. The islands are the exposed peaks of the Hawaiian mountain range known as the Hawaiian-Emperor sea-mount chain Kingdom. The Mountains were formed by volcanic activity over the Earth's mantle that releases multitudes of molten Lava.
